Pics of the kids............

Jumping in with both feet.............

It's 6:50pm and I am sitting on my bed doing my blog. I could fall asleep right now I think. I spent the day working on the Won by One Child Sponsorship program. Taking photos, updating information and having a few of the children make pictures for their sponsors. Jonson spent most of the afternoon with me drawing pictures and napping. Exhausting work! I'll be in a constant state of updating info on the children and having them do photos and drawing so we can get it out to sponsors. All fun work as I get to visit our school children in their homes and spend time with them. Lucky me!

Arrived Safe and Sound! and hot...............

Morning!

Arrived safely at the orphanage yesterday! It's about 10 degrees hotter in Haiti than the DR!

It is so great to see the kids and how much they've grown!!!

I'm still settling in but lots to work on with the Won by One Sponsorship program so I'm heading down to the school soon.

Wanted to let everyone know I arrived safely!

Today is the day!

I am sitting at the airport right now, waiting for my flight to Chicago. Then on to Orlando. Then to Miami, then Santiago and then FINALLY into Ounaminthe. I am exhausted. I finished with the Canucks last Thursday and thought "5 days.... plenty of time" WOW. WRONG.
That time FLEW BY. I was able to get out and see alot of people and actually get the stuff done I needed to.
A minor miracle.
I SO enjoyed my last night in Vancouver with great friends, tunes and Julian's fantastic poetry. Watts' recycling relay runs a close second....... Cav and Jordy - cheaters............
Overall an excellent evening with very dear friends.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to sleep much the last 2 nights. You'd think it's because of all the things I have to do however I have a tendancy to get so excited I can't sleep. Hence the 4:30am start to my day today.

I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me throughout the process of packing up and moving to Haiti. I am very grateful and know that I have been blessed to have such good people in my life.

I'm making a pit stop in Orlando for meetings at our office. Will get another update together for you from Orlando!!

TOODLES!!!

Packing, Yard Sales and the To Do list

I am sitting at Calhoun's on Broadway waiting for a friend to arrive that will help me with my networking/computer/marketing/sales issues. As I sit here, I am reflecting on how many friends have been helping me along the way. Brooks and Derran have helped me move stuff into storage, Les has been helping me be an entrepreneur, Anne has been my cheerleader, Michael my accountant, and so many others. Chris and Tim were there for me this weekend when I
finally made the decision to let Percy go. She was my cat that I had had for 20 years. So hard to make that decision. I knew I was going to have to do it no matter what but Chris and Tim were SO supportive and kind about it. Not the coolest thing to have to do on your vacation...... Thanks to Michelle for making me smile today.
All of this does make me realise how many people are helping me get to Haiti. My sister Shannon is setting up a booth selling artwork, cards and items her student has made in Nova Scotia.
It's coast to coast!
So now I am packing more boxes for storage (shuffling stuff because I can't decide what to do with it :)

Every day things are getting checked off the TO DO list. It's sometimes overwhelming, sometimes exciting and sometimes exhausting.

And the move is 16 days away...............

I especially enjoyed the conversation today with the guy from MSP as I try to sort out health insurance.

"Hi, I need to find out what my basic coverage is so I can supplement it with Travel Insurance "

MSP dude "How long will you be out of the country"

"I'll be back a couple times a year I think for a couple weeks at a time, I'm moving to Haiti"

MSP dude " Uh oh"

"What's wrong?"

MSP dude "Nothing, I just think you're crazy"

"Um, thanks..............."

Thank goodness there are a lot more encouraging words out there from friends!!!

THANK YOU, EVERYONE!!!
